about

This song was inspired by an early gig we played in Leeds. Giles went to Uni there, and most of his mates stayed up there afterwards.

The gig was an arts happening at the Leeds Mex bar, and we went on before a comedian called Mick Artistic - who drew a picture of us while we played (but he wouldn't let us have the picture). Mick's set included standing on tin-foil, telling rambling stories and playing the spoons.

We were competing with Gabba DJs in the other room - where the audience seemed to be residing, oddly. The stage was really weird (see picture). Thanks to Dicky Rock for driving us up to the gig in his Dad's Land Rover (good times...).

We recorded this track during the sessions for our second proper album, 'Players'.

about

Johnny Domino Derby, UK

Giles and Steve formed JOHNNY DOMINO in the summer of 1993.
Over the next 3-4 years they recorded over 100 songs (known as THE SHITHOUSE MASTERS) on a series of knackered 4-track recorders, drafting in other players on an ad-hoc basis.
Long-term SHITHOUSE alumni Jim became a full-time Domino in 1996, followed by Marc.
Johnny Domino played their final gig on December 23, 2006 at The Vaults, Derby.
