Recorded Spring 1994.

Giles on Drums and Lead Vocals, Albert on Bass and 'French', Steve on Guitar.

Recorded in Spring 1994 - Albert came over to record a couple of other songs, one of which I was convinced was going to become a signature tune for Johnny Domino. We got that down and 'Europop' appeared, as if from nowhere.

This is frequently the way that things would go in these days - the things that happened off the cuff would be the ones that we'd listen to (and continue to to this day) - the one's that we slaved over would be forgotten and sound pretty embarrassing to me now.

Albert's French translation of "Everywhere I go I am 'the baby'" is not quite on the money - more like "I think therefore I am 'the baby'".

Giles's lyrics were inspired here by the cod-English mid-lantic wranglings of inexplicably successful Europoppers Roxette,

about

Johnny Domino Derby, UK

Giles and Steve formed JOHNNY DOMINO in the summer of 1993.
Over the next 3-4 years they recorded over 100 songs (known as THE SHITHOUSE MASTERS) on a series of knackered 4-track recorders, drafting in other players on an ad-hoc basis.
Long-term SHITHOUSE alumni Jim became a full-time Domino in 1996, followed by Marc.
Johnny Domino played their final gig on December 23, 2006 at The Vaults, Derby.
