The Udigowa Contract

from Rabbit Themes by Johnny Domino

about

Some of us were watching a lot of daytime TV at this time. Some of it was Australian. We're not ashamed.

I don't think we played this live often (if at all), which is a shame as I think this is one of the hidden gems.

It's even got a KEY CHANGE, which I was very pleased with. We shift down a tone in the instrumental break - so when we return 'home' for the chorus, it sounds TRIUMPHANT.

This was a 4-track recording - so if there's more than one keyboard noise, me and Marc were playing at the same time. I think we all sang the choruses at the same time, positioning ourselves around "God's Ear".

The really squelchy noises came from an old analogue drum trigger that Marc had - look ma, no keys.

about

Johnny Domino Derby, UK

Giles and Steve formed JOHNNY DOMINO in the summer of 1993.
Over the next 3-4 years they recorded over 100 songs (known as THE SHITHOUSE MASTERS) on a series of knackered 4-track recorders, drafting in other players on an ad-hoc basis.
Long-term SHITHOUSE alumni Jim became a full-time Domino in 1996, followed by Marc.
Johnny Domino played their final gig on December 23, 2006 at The Vaults, Derby.
