about

At the time I thought that the lead guitar bit sounded like something that John McLaughlin might have played.

Great memories of starting gigs with this track and scaring the crap out of unsuspecting audiences when we launched into it full-throttle - especially when we finally started working with a real drummer.

Up until that point, it's fair to say that Marc filled the 'drummer' role in JD, simply by taking a lot of crap from us (sorry, Elkstone). The "in a cup that is gay" line was because Marc was the only JD who took sugar in his tea, so we differentiated the cups by giving Marc his brew in something floral.

Tea was very important to the creative process but the most surprising thing about that story is that Marc put up with us for so long!

about

Johnny Domino Derby, UK

Giles and Steve formed JOHNNY DOMINO in the summer of 1993.
Over the next 3-4 years they recorded over 100 songs (known as THE SHITHOUSE MASTERS) on a series of knackered 4-track recorders, drafting in other players on an ad-hoc basis.
Long-term SHITHOUSE alumni Jim became a full-time Domino in 1996, followed by Marc.
Johnny Domino played their final gig on December 23, 2006 at The Vaults, Derby.
